In Emmy’s fashion interview, Esprit Nordic’s marketing manager, Cecilie Grønbæk.
How did you become interested in the fashion industry?
I was already very interested in fashion as a child. I dressed in my mother’s clothes and read her fashion magazines. My love for fashion has remained, and my favorite destinations in the world are big cities like New York, Paris, and London.
How would you describe your style?
Scandinavian, minimalist, and functional. Not very colorful – I prefer pants and a shirt, and my color palette is white, black, gray, nude, and brown shades.
What is your daily everyday look like?
I love blazers, blouses, and trench coats for a cool business look. At the moment, I also like faux leather; it’s warm but still chic.
You live in Copenhagen. What is typical attire there?
People living in Copenhagen have a really trendy style. Everyone seems to know the latest fashion trends, and we have numerous major international influencers in the city. They directly influence fashion trends.
The most typical Copenhagen style is minimalist and casual. Good materials are the main focus, and earthy tones look elegant and trendy.

Your best secondhand finds?
My two Fendi bags with the Fendi logo print. One is a black shopper, and the other is a smaller brown baguette style for the city or a night out at a restaurant.
I use these bags almost every day because they go with any outfit and complete my look. I like that secondhand fashion is becoming even trendier. Consumers are becoming more and more knowledgeable about recycling.
What are Esprit’s autumn trends?
Sustainable materials and soft quality wool. Esprit’s autumn-winter collection is full of high-quality, versatile clothes that are easy to mix and match. The collection includes wool coats, down jackets, and warm knits. You’ll love these classic and elegant clothes for several seasons, and they are also durable in use.
How is the development of sustainable fashion visible at Esprit?
Sustainable fashion has been in Esprit’s DNA since its founding year, 1968. Esprit created an ecological collection from organic cotton long before ecological fashion became a phenomenon.
We are constantly striving for better and more ecological directions. In fact, our goal is to produce 100% sustainable clothing collections already in 2023. Esprit is one of the most transparent brands when it comes to the production chain. Already 60% of our collections are made from recycled fibers, and we are continuously improving this area as well.
